9th LOSA MEET HELD at Lansdowne, Garhwal amidst fanfare

The ninth Lansdowne Old Association’s (LOSA) annual meet was successfully held the other day at Lansdowne despite the ongoing Corona.

The event takes place every year in the month of June but due the pandemic it was held this month in the first week of December.

The chief guest of the function was the first citizen of Lansdowne Brigadier Harmeet Sethi who inaugurated the event by lightening the lamp alongwith LOSA president Dr S.P Naithani, former beauty Queen n runner up Miss Asia n president of Mahila Uthan Avon BAL Kalyan Sanstha Anukriti Gusain and Sub divisional magistrate Aparna Dhaundiyal.

A painting competition of the children and colourful cultural evening of traditional songs n dances of Uttarakhand were also organised on this occasion with the chief guest Brigadier Harmeet Sethi felicitating several outstanding personalities for their contribution in various fields and to LOSA.

In a function organised in the auditorium of Army Public School Lansdown, chief guest Brigadier Harmeet Sethi honoured the APS as the best school of Lansdowne with a commendation LOSA trophy.

The school was adjudged best in Lansdowne during Corona times in terms of its students being outstanding performers in leadership, online n offline competitions, descipline, studies, sports, general knowledge etc.

The LOSA award was presented to the Lansdowne Army Public School principal Bijendra Sundriyal.

Prominent amongst those who were presented commendation trophies of LOSA by CHIEF GUEST brigadier Sethi for their exemplary contribution in various fields are social activist Vinod Kukreti, SDM Aparna Dhaundiyal, Dr. Sanjay, pharmacist Neeraj Yadav, former principal Govind Kharkhwal, Police officer SN Gairola and others.

Prominent amongst those present on this occassion were President Dr. S.P. Naithani, Treasurer Rajiv Barthwal, secretary Chandrapal Patwal, Colonel Y. S. Rawat,Ajay Aggrawal, Principal Mam Chandra, Bhavna Verma, Narmada Gusain, Urmila, CMS Negi, Sohan Singh, Mr. Haldhar, Cant hospital, Ajay Shah, Dr Sanjay, Degree college, Lansdowne, Meena Adhikari, teacher, Kuldeep Rawat, Manager, Grameen Bank, Arun Khankriyal and Sunil Shah etc.

There was quite an enthusiasm among the participants during the LOSA meet especially among students, youths n women. Dr. SP Naithani, Rajeev Barthwal n Chandra Patwal deserve kudos for the success of this event of LOSA.

Kindly recall that the old students of Lansdowne who are now in and outside Lansdowne serving in various positions in government n non govt services as well as involved in businesses as army officers, SDM, advocates, journalists, writers, singers, bureaucrats, engineers, doctors, theatre activists etc join this event once in a year alongwith their families to interact and refreshen old memories. Various competitions are also organised to encourage children in paintings n other co curricular activities including cultural events.
