6.6 Richter Scale Magnitude Earthquake in Delhi NCR

A severe earthquake in Delhi NCR struck on Tuesday at somewhere around 10:25 p.m. and had tremors that were felt across different spots in North India, which included places such as Ghaziabad, Noida, and even Gurugram. The tremors themselves were felt for several seconds, according to multiple witness reports. The National Centre for seismology stated that an earthquake of a 6.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck 133km SSE with its epicenter in Faizabad in, Afghanistan at precisely 10:17 p.m. Indian Standard Time.

As soon as the tremors were felt, the local residents were noticed leaving their homes for safer spots due to the earthquake in Delhi NCR. Several users on Twitter shared videos and images of the situation in Delhi during the earthquake. This, however, was not only noticed in Delhi. Residents of Noida, Ghaziabad, and even of some cities in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh were seen escaping their homes with their kids.

When initial reports were consulted, an earthquake of 6.5 magnitudes was hitting countries Such as Turmekistan, Afghanistan, China, Kazakhstan, India, and Pakistan, amongst others.

When the tremors were felt, lots of locals were seen running out of their homes in the Northern states of India, which included Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab.
