20 new cases of Covid 19 detected in Uttarakhand today

Though compared to other states of the country the Corona virus infection figure is quite low in Uttarakhand but if we go by the recent spurt of fifty cases during the last three to four days the situation definitely becomes worrisome. As per todays health bulletin report, twenty new cases of Covid 19 infections were reported from different parts of Uttarakhand. While twenty fresh cases were reported from Almora ( 3) , Champawat ( 7), Dehradun ( 2), Haridwar ( 1) , Nainital ( 2), Pithoragarh ( 2) n Uttarkashi ( 3). This spike of twenty cases has now totalled the Covid 19 positive cases in the state to 173.

There are reports that the states where random testing or targetted testing is being conducted on large scale there are chances of cases coming positive but if testing is feeble the cases are bound to be less. There is every possibility of the Covid 19 infected cases going up in the near future especially after looking at the quick jump in the last three, four days reveal reliable sources.

A report about a 55 year old women’s death in AIIMS hospital, Rishikesh today has also created rumours about her being Corona positive but the latest news suggest that she was suffering from oesophegus cancer and had met her sad end today. However, the health bulletin is showing two Corona deaths.

Meanwhile, a renowned social activist and the former DG of 108 Ambulance services in Uttarakhand Anoop Nautiyal has today tweeted : Given the decrepit state of health care in the mountain region, it’s vital to look at the pandemic from a critical perspective. With 40 active cases out of 41 during the past two weeks, patient care challenges are enormous. Hope the system will rise to the occasion.

According to Anoop Nautiyal: With 43 cases from 1945 tests across the hill districts of Uttarakhand, the infection rate is 2.61%. In comparison, state has an infection rate of 1.09. He has furnished the district wise cases : Uttarkashi 10, Almora 7, Champawat 7, Tehri 6, Bageshwar 6, Pauri 4. According to various reports majority of the aforesaid positive cases are of those persons who’ve come from Mumbai, Gurugram, Gurugram, Noida n Delhi.

Meanwhile a 54 year old person from Roorkie, Uttarakhand was also tested Corona positive today. The Health Bulletin of Uttarakhand released at 3.00 PM shows total positive cases to 173 with two deaths due to Corona and 56 recoveries thus bringing the active cases to only 115.
