Vodafone and BSNL come up with new names to raise awareness about COVID-19

The coronavirus pandemic has created an alarming situation globally and every person is doing his/her bit to raise its awareness. Well, not only the common people but many telecom giants have also come up with an innovative idea of raising its awareness. As notified, Vodafone and the state-owned telecom operator, i.e., BSNL, have decided to change their network names. Reportedly, they have added some coronavirus-related suffixes with their names.

BSNL has transformed its operator name to the notable ‘BSNL Stay at Home,’ whereas Vodafone sees ‘Vodafone-Be Safe as its network name for the users. They have taken this step intending to raise awareness about social distancing amongst everyone. Not only this but the DoT, i.e., the Department of Telecommunications, has asked the telecom operators to mandatorily add the 30 seconds’ Coronavirus message as the caller tune. The users got to know about such a change in name via Twitter. Also, it has to be noted that Vodafone’s change in name is not only limited to India. Instead, it has also been showcased in Germany. Vodafone and BSNL have not only been changing their names to raise awareness about Corona. But they have also tried to do their best to help their users in this harsh time. Vodafone has thus come up with many added benefits for the prepaid connections. Also, it has extended the users’ plan validity. While on the other hand, BSNL has decided to extend the mobile subscriptions’ validity to April 20th
