Sr Congress leader n fmr union minister Jairam Ramesh seeks apology from Vivek Doval, younger son of NSA

The senior Congress leader and former union minister of environment and forest Jairam Ramesh has today sought an apology in the court related to a case of criminal defamation filed against him and the Caravan magazine by the younger son of the national security advisor Vivek Doval for allegedly levelling serious but biased, fabricated and concocted charges against him by the Congress leader in a press conference without any substantive evidence during the 2019 general elections amounting to denigration of Vivek Doval’s image and that of his father who is the NSA of the country.

According to the latest news, an investment management expert Vivek Doval has shown an open heart and has accepted the senior Congress leader’s apology for wrongly and in enthusiasm during the election fever of 2019 addressing a press conference levelling baseless charges against him denigrating his image n that of his father NSA n the family as well.

After tendering of the apology , the petitioner of criminal defamation case, the NSA Ajit Doval’s younger son has withdrawn Mr. Jairam Ramesh’s name from his list of defaulters.

However the case of criminal defamation against the magazine Caravan n its journalist Kaushal Shroff still continues in the court on the charges of criminal defamation, which had published a detailed story levelling several charges against the NSA’s son Vivek Doval without possessing any concrete or credible evidences.

While tendering the written apology in a Delhi court, senior Congress leader and former union minister Dr. Jairam Ramesh issued the following statement : I want to clarify that these statements or accusations were made during the conclusions from an article that was published the previous day in the Caravan Magazine.

Jairam Ramesh further says : As the case progressed, I realised that perhaps some independent verification may have been in order. However, the general elections were close and the questions raised in the article seemed appropriate for being highlighted in making certain insinuations against you and your family he added Thus, I would like to offer my apologies to you and your family for any hurt the statements may have caused Jairam said in a written statement.

I would also urge the Indian National Congress to remove the press conference available on their website he added.

It may be recalled that Caravan english magazine had carried a big article allegedly accusing Vivek Dobhal of certain charges related to his running a hedge fund in the Cayman islands which is an established Tax Haven etc.

NSA Doval’s son Vivek had filed a criminal defamation case in a Delhi court stating that all the charges levelled in the Caravan article are false n baseless defaming his image n that of his family in the eyes of his professional colleagues n the society.

The court had summoned the journalist n editor of the Caravan for publishing this highly objectionable article titled “the D companies” on 25th April. The case against the magazine and the journalist Kaushal Shroff is still continuing.
