PM Modi seeks apology, says lockdown is the only credible necessity

Prime minister Narendra Modi today sought an apology from countrymen for putting them indoors and in isolation after announcing three weeks lockdown and said that this was necessary for their safety and survival as the Corona Virus has imprisoned the entire world. He was addressing countrymen in his monthly programme, MAN KI BAAT

HE said:  I seek apology from countrymen due to some strict actions that led them to confront immense difficulties and inconviences. I know people are annoyed with me. But this was necessary because it is a fight between life and death. This is the only way to save you and your family, he added.

Prime minister Modi further said: I was constrained to take this strong step in the wider public interest. This was immensely necessary. I humbly apologize to all my countrymen.

The deadly pandemic virus is a serious challenge to one n all globally. We have to counter and fight this dreaded disease with courage and commitment, he added. You have to save yourself, and your family prime minister Modi said. Cautioning countrymen, PM Modi said: You have to be in isolation for several more days and strictly follow the lockdown.

Appealing not to violate rules during lock down, Modi said: If you violate the rule of lockdown, you will be infected by the dreaded Covid 19 virus and put valuable lives to risk. Those who are violating the law are playing with their precious lives, Modi added.

Those like doctors, nurses, nursing male volunteers who are countering this dreaded disease, and treating people suffering from Covid 19 deserve to be complimented heartily and are a great source of inspiration to us, said PM Modi lauding their dedicated efforts.

He added: I also personally spoke to the patients suffering from this dreaded disease and now fully cured and nurses as well. He warned: If the countrymen violate or break the lockdown rules, it will be impossible for them to be alive. We can’t afford to put our existence to risks of pandemic Covid 19 he cautioned.

PM Modi said :  We have to seek inspiration from those who’d defeated this dreaded virus bravely. The novel Coronavirus is obstinate and rigid, hell bent upon to attack us cautioned PM Modi. It is, therefore, necessary and rather mandatory to obey the “Lakshman Rekha” at all costs in order to strongly fight this menace that is claiming unaccounted human lives globally n stay indoors strictly. 

While addressing “Man ki Baat” on the radio being broadcast live by news television channels, prime minister Narendra Modi spoke to Ashok Kapoor of Agra and Teja, who are now cured of this pandemic after having been quarantined for 14 days in Safdarjung hospital followed by adequate treatment. This recording of two days before was exhibited between the  PM’s address in  the Man ki Baat programme.

PM Modi, while thanking n lauding  these cured patients, also appealed to help other patients and the general public by serving them food items and in whatever best possible way they can contribute. Prime minister Narendra Modi’s conversation with Dr. Nitish Gupta of Delhi was also telecast in continuation of his speech. Dr. Nitish Gupta explained how he has cured 16 Corona virus-infected patients and what precautions had to be adopted to fight this dreaded menace.

Prime minister Modi thanked Dr. Gupta and lauded the efforts of doctors in dutifully and dedicatedly performing their respective duties in curing the patients suffering from the Covid 19 pandemic. He advised them to safeguard themselves as well.

A recording of a conversation with Dr. Borse from Pune was also replayed. PM Modi lauded his efforts and expressed the hope that we will finally defeat this deadly pandemic come what may. PM Modi said that the Coronavirus has imprisoned the entire world. Prime minister Modi expressed his obeisance towards the dedicated nurses of the country for selflessly serving the patients.

He referred the name of Acharya Charak and paid his respects, and thanks to the nurses of the country. He also appreciated the contribution of the banking employees serving customers honestly and with dedication despite massive lockdown. He expressed his thanks on behalf of the countrymen and cautioned them to protect themselves as well from being infected by the dreaded Coronavirus. He also lauded the role of delivery men of e-commerce services for taking a lot of risks.

The prime minister appealed to exercise maximum social distancing at all costs. Those in quarantine should not be dealt as untouchable, said PM Modi. Dealing badly with those in quarantine is not acceptable and fair. It is the right time to associate ourselves with the people emotionally, but equally maintaining social distance, come what may. We have to exercise strict n stringent action to fight this dreaded disease decisively  said PM Modi. 

He added : We have to seek inspiration from the paramedical staff. Commitment and dedication to follow lockdown will lead to winning against this pandemic he said. He finally thanked countrymen for their support and cooperation and appealed them to be prepared to be indoors and under lockdown to safeguard them and their families.
